Thinking of visiting Prague in March. Never been before so would appreciate any information on where to stay (not too expensive) things to do etc, getting from airport all the usual things you need to know really!!

Going on Weds have been before and staying in the same hotel called Akcent Hotel right beside Metro so easy to get from airport about 15 minutes walk fron centre but tram and bus station outside hotel very reasonable.

Where would I find info on this hotel. Been looking on travel republic as been on hols with them before but cant remember seeing that one.

Still looking have found a couple of hotels. Anyone stated at the Prague centre plaza, Duo or Roma. Alos on last minute hotels they do ones called top secret or something, you dont know the name of the hotel when you book but they send you an email with the hotel name once you book it. Anyone tried this as they had some real deals going on but a bit unsure whether to go with this option

ploverfield, I%26#39;m not sure what your budget is, but I highly recommend House at the Big Boot (Dum u Velke Boty), which is on the Little Quarter side of the Charles Bridge. It%26#39;s a family-run guesthouse, and they are so friendly and helpful, they really made our stay in Prague! I%26#39;m going to start posting my trip report this week. Have fun! Beautiful city.

Agree on both accounts. Have stayed at Roma. Location + quality wise, I had a quite satisfactory stay. Go for it if the price is right.
As said above, (not too expensive) is a bit vague. What is you budget? If you prefer cheaper, try Residence Mala Strana 3* ( stayed there 4 times ) and Atos 3* (once). Could be 30 % cheaper than Roma and practically the same location.

My wife and self have just returned from Prague after spending four nights there. We stayed at the Andel, excellent 4 star hotel and only cost us £172 including breakfast, booked on the GTA hotels website. The same hotel could have cost us another £100 had we booked on other sites. But that is always the case, my advice is always spend an evening going through the many different websites. Its amazing the difference in price for the same hotel. When you do find a bargain book it immediately because the next night its highly likely to have gone up.
