Cocktail Bars & Czech Wine

I%26#39;m travelling to Prague in 4 weeks for the first time and would like to know if anyone could suggest a lively and comfortable cocktail bar to try one night. We%26#39;re staying in the Nerudova area so somewhere within walking distance of there would be ideal.

Also could any wine fans please recommend your favourite Czech white wines (the drier the better) and the best places to buy them from in the Prague 1 area? I%26#39;m no expert but I do love wine and would like to bring a few bottles back with me.

There is a good wine shop on Krizovnicka just past the Four Seasons near the Charles Bridge. They can arrange tastings if its still there, also have alook at.

Prague is full of cocktail bars so you will have lots to choose from.

Cheers TORII, I%26#39;ll give it a try. Really looking forward to the trip now and trying to get a bit more organised for it.

Thanks for all the time and effort you put in with those replies! :-)

Aloha was one of the bars I was looking at actually, it looks pretty good. I sorta ignored the steak house as me and my girlfriend aren%26#39;t big meat eaters but it seems pretty local so I%26#39;ll probably give that a try too. I have checked out the Prague Experience site, I%26#39;ll probably book an afternoon cruise on there.

The guy who built that astronomical clock must%26#39;ve regretted building it, how harsh was that?!

We%26#39;re going to Florida in November for 12 days too, purely for the theme parks and weather though!

Thanks again for your help, I%26#39;ll have to post a report when I get back!

Not many cocktail bars in Mala Strana, where you are.

In Old Town, the best are Tretter%26#39;s, Zapa Bar, and Chili Bar (hidden small not fancy place). American Bar at Obecni Dum (downstairs) is beautiful.

I%26#39;ve written them all up on my blog at one time or another:

Not many cocktail bars in Mala Strana, where you are. Maybe Mandarin Oriental hotel. Maybe St. Nicholas Cafe could be nice (more of a regular bar).
