European City Breaks

Hi, I%26#39;m looking to take my wife away in February for Valentine%26#39;s. Ideally I%26#39;d like to go to somewhere like Prague or Budapest, but I%26#39;m not a well-travelled individual so would appreciate some advice.

I%26#39;m looking for somewhere with a bit of culture that is inexpensive to get to, reasonable accomodation (standards and price), and cheap(ish) eating and drinking (am I asking for too much?).

Can anyone reccomend a European destination (outside the single currency) that may be suitable? Also any hotel reccomendations would be welcomed.

Finally, if anyone could suggest websites for booking cheap flights/ hotels, that would be excellent.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I would consider booking a Easyjet holiday (booking flights and accommodation in one transaction)

Just click onto the holidays tab on the above link, above the main search box.

Prague and Krakow (Poland) are excellent choices and will meet all your requirements.

I did a quick search for you with Easyjet for 2 adults, 3 nights in Prague, departing on the 22/2/09. Prices start from £223 including flights and accommodation, which is a outstanding price.

If you are looking to spend a little more, I would consider the Hotel Qubus in Krakow. It is a four star hotel and the TA reviews are very good, I visited in Nov 07 and could not fault any aspect. The cost of the Qubus is £462 departing on the 20/2/09 for 3 nights B%26amp;B including flights and accommodation. Another excellent price.

Happy New Year to you too!
