Double your budget and you might be getting more realistic...

Try this link. The Accord is close to the square. There are others that are cheap also.....

most hotels are heavily dicounting rooms during the current economic downtrend (yes, yes I know a big word for me) go to www.booking.com and submit your dates.I fear, however, that your budget is a bit low for the area you want unless it is per person. You can always get a room at the travelers hostel Double room 700 CZK http://www.travellers.cz

By %26quot;near to the square%26quot; I (like everybody above)suppose you mean the old town square, but we are not sure. You can tell us. January is a low (est) season so if you can be a slight bit flexible with location, your budget is quite possible. From personal experience I can recommend, budget and quality wise, Residence Mala Strana 3* (stayed 3 times)and Atos 3* (once) that are almost next door from each other. They ARE on the other side of the Charles Bridge (Mala Strana district) and 7 minutes walk to the bridge, 10 minutes more to the Old Town Square. It depends how fast you walk too. There are lots to see on the way between two points so stops that you make would slow you down. Anyway I found them convenient location, quiet but central enough. It also has a tram stop (Ujezd) for so many lines, to get to the old town, castle area, new town, etc. You can find these hotels by googling. I booked them both direct and with venere.com. In January and other low winter seasons, my double room single use were €37 - 40 so they should be within your budget.

Good recommendations Kat.

I think in the %26#39;current economic downtrend%26#39; you need to be careful who you are booking with. It is possibly better to use an established company then a newbie on the market.

Penny that is good advice too, well done.
