stag parties

Hi

We are a family of four (kids 7 and 10)going to Prague 23 to 26 of feb. It`s our first time in Prague and I`ve heard a lot about btitish tourists on stag parties. Is there any cause for concern?obviously with kids we won`t be out late.Have heard that the area Wenscelas square has lots of strip clubs. Is there any areas we should stear clear of?Also was wondering if there`s anything good for the kids to see or do?Any good restaurants in the lesser town that are smoke free or at least less smoke filled than others?we will be staying at the hotel roma. Thanks:=)

I wouldn%26#39;t worry about it - the credit crunch has seen to that as it isn%26#39;t the %26#39;cheap beer paradise%26#39; that it may once have been :) You will only see them if you go to Irish pubs and places like that, but you will stay clear of them, of course.

Wenceslas Square really isn%26#39;t all that bad, but it%26#39;s not a place to hang around at night. Even then, if you are a couple or with kids you won%26#39;t be troubled at all and you probably won%26#39;t see any strip clubs as the few that are there are well hidden. It is not a place of great beauty (at least compared to Old Town Square), but it has a lot of history, and is in fact a sort of boulevard, rather than a square. Go during the day, but make sure that you have read up about it - Jan Palach, the 1968 invasion, the events of November 1989, etc - Wenceslas Square played a major role in all those events in modern history.

For things for the kids, do a search in the search box above - I am sure this has been covered before. There is the zoo, for example, or a day trip to the %26#39;bone church%26#39; in Kutna Hora which is grisly, but kids like it :)

Again, smoke-free restaurants is another topic that has been recently covered (unless tripadvisor has removed it - it got a bit %26#39;heated%26#39;) :) Basically there isn%26#39;t a lot out there - Is Norway smoke-feee like Sweden? If so, then you will notice it.

Enjoy your stay!

Thank you very much for your reply!Norway like Sweden is smoke free and once you get used to it you really start to notice smokers.Have heard about the mirror labyrinth but expect it will be closed during our visit?

I don%26#39;t know how up-to-date this is http://www.prague.net/mirror-labyrinth but it should be open. Don%26#39;t expect anything mind-blowing, but it is certainly fun for the kids :) The diorama is quite impressive, though.

There are some other things for kids on this link as well.

It%26#39;s now open only at weekends, 10-17.

The prices are slightly higher than that on the mentioned sites: 70,- per adult, 50,- per child 6-18 years and 20,- per child when going in a group of children under 10 years with a teacher; these are 2008 prices avaiable in Czech here (%26quot;i%26quot; above the picture): pis.cz/cz/praha/pamatky/bludiste_na_petrine/

short info in English (without prices):
