Is anywhere in the Old Town quiet?

Hello all,

I have had a look through previous threads, but getting a bit mixed up, is there anywhere in or near the Old Town which is quiet at night or is it all bars and street noise? We are travelling with my 3 year old and another couple with a 12 year old. We want to be nice and close to all the sights (for which we think Old Town is the best location????), but I have read reviews about it being rowdy at nights, although that maybe certain apartments, rather than the whole area, we were looking at the %26#39;Old Town Apartments%26#39;, but apparently they share a building with a bar, so am grateful to the forum for that warning . . . !

Any suggestions will be very welcome, thank you very much in advance

You need somewhere on or near Hastalka, or maybe Rybna.There are quite a few places called Old Town apartments so am not sure which you mean ,if its the ones opposite the clock ask for rooms at the back.

Depends on your budget, but very central location but IMO nice ambience and fairly quiet (yet just 50m from a main street) is Betlemska square and we stayed at Betlemclub Hotel in this square. Liked it a lot.

The apartment/suite was really nice. Good value for a family.

You can walk everywhere from this location.

This is a basic 3*, no bar or restaurant. Really nice buffet breakfast but eat out. Not sure if that%26#39;s what you seek, it%26#39;s no good if you want delux and eating in the hotel.

A very good recommendation by Stooferuk, quiet yet central. And of course Hastalska is also very good.

I would say anywhere to the north [incl NE/ NW] of the Old Town Square, or south west of the square will be quiet at night.

Even to the east, in the area around Celetna [Marriott/ Hilton Old Town] would also be quiet at night.

Of course, bars are in these areas, but not music bars etc and stag/ hen parties tend to be located to the Wenceslas Square areas on a night.

Then you could add Hybernska and Kempinski and K%26amp;K, but it all depends on how much you want to pay!

Perhaps you should look for an apartment in Mala Strana?

I recently saw rates at KKcentral for 128.00 euro a night. Very nice place and central.
