recomendation for area to stay

Hello to all the friends of the forum.

My boyfriend and I are visiting Prague in the beginning of February.I am wondering who cold is it going to be and if there is going to be snowy?

Depending on the answer my second dilemma is whether to book a hotel at the center, which will be more comfortable regarding cold but more expensive or a hotel 15 minutes away(as claimed at the hotels site) and less expensive!

The weather is very unpredictable, it is likely to be cold (minus temperatures) it may snow, it may be windy....who knows.

I am not entirely sure what difference it will make by staying in the center or being 15 minutes away. (unless the hotel is being economic with the truth)

Which area is the non central hotel in? We might be able to help with your decision, transport etc.

Hotels in the center would be Old Town which is flat and easy to walk around in. The castle side is hilly which might make it harder to walk in with snow. If you could clarify your question it would be easier to help you.

Well the one hotel is Ceasars,in Praha 1 near Karlovo namesti station and the other hotel I am concidering is Winston Churchill which is behind the main trailway station!

I think it is better to be at the center and walk round the sights and not need 15-20 min. to get to the area! Moreover, many customers of Winston Hotel say that trailway station is not the best area to walk through the night, returning from center.

Please...enlight me

I hope the details provided will help you guide me a bit better!

Is it Hotel Caesar Palace ?If it is I think this hotel is better positioned than the other, its closer to the Old Town and Charles Bridge.

As far as being in the centre, depends what you call the centre. If say Old Town Square, then the walking distance would be pretty much the same for both hotels. But IMO it is easier to use public transport for Caesars and the walk there would also be more pleasant then walking up Zizkov.

Thank you all!I appreciate the interest and I am going to book Caesars to end the whole story!!!
