Planning on taking a short stay trip to Prague with my wife - which part to stay ?? Usual stuff - easy walk from hotel to restaurants, shops, sights etc. Any sugestions for nice hotel with spa/wellness, pool type stuff ( I can search for this myself though once I can narrow the search by knowing which area ! ).
Thanks all

i%26#39;d go for any lodging in Lesser Town (Mala STrana) area. Its relative, though. I like its tranquility and purity - you see the Mala Strana is a lot quiter area than its counterpart the Old Town Square albeit being in the heart of the city.
sorry, i can be any more specific as i have never stayed in any of Prague%26#39;s hotels as i currently live here...

Forget the wellness/pool - you should be getting fit walking the city and relaxing in its pubs and cafes instead :)
Also shops I think you will find are no cheaper than in Ireland, and restaurants are everywhere.

Not really planning on it being a shopping trip or anything, just want to be in an area for browsing sort of thing. We want basically to be able to chill out for a short breakaway in a hotel, have a swim/sauna or whatever, amble out and know that we are close to shops for browsing ( wife ! ), and pubs or resataurants for catching a bite to eat without having to get busses or metro in order to get to this type of area. Only intend on being in pubs at end of night for 1 or 2 drinks just to finish off. I have seen some lovely hotels but they seem to be in residential type areas ( classed central yet requires bus ride or metro ! ) - I dont know the areas of Prague at all - just picked here as so many good deals seem to be on offer !

Just seen the link www.livinginprague.com - seems like Old Town square is the place to go !

Top Hotel Prague Leisure Centre - if it is just a swim you want and nothing else, then that is the place for you - it is about as far from the centre of Prague as you could possibly get whilst still being in Prague :) But you might as well stay at home.
It is on a metro line at least.
Alchemist usually has good write-ups, though.

and Casa Marcelo has no pool. Alchymist is the best one from your list. But Hilton also has a pool.

Top hotel is not even on the metro, you have to take a bus! That%26#39;s the last hotel I would want to stay in! Pure horror.
Alchymist is what suites your requirements best, it is very romantic and has a great spa. Marriott has a pool as well, a good hotel in a good location. Nothing special though.
