Tour guide of the Jewish QTR

WE will be traveling to Prague in May and wanted to arrange a tour of the Jewish quarter. Can anyone recommend a good tour guide for this section of the city?

Thanks

If memory serves me right. There is an office in front of the yellow synagogue that books tours. The one with the metal statue in front. I can%26#39;t recall the name of it, it was 2 years ago.

Private tour guides are best, my favorite is Helena Matejickova, guide@matjecek.com, 062 110 003. If you prefer a %26#39;survivor%26#39;, check with Sylvie Wittmann at www.wittmann-tours.com. My favorite is Pavel Stransky, he is a delightful man with a moving story and wrote a book about it as well.

What are the main recommendations if you just want to go it alone round there, i.e main attractions to check out etc?

Are there many pubs speckled about the Jewish Quarter? I like to mix drink and culture!

TIA
