from prague to berlin

Hi everyone, i´m trying to get my schedule for the part of my euro trip that covers Prague to Berlin.

I get to prague on the 27th of may, I was thinking of doing 3 nights (4 days) in Prague, then trying to figure if I should head straight to Berlin (what is the cheapest way to do this ??) or make stop overs in either Krakow, Munich, Budapest or Vienna first ??

I leave Berlin on the 4th and head to Copenhagen (already have a flight ticket for that) so it has to give me at least a couple of days in Berlin. How many nights should I do in Berlin (does 4 nights sound about enough?)

Should I try to make it from Prague to Munich, Vienna, Budapest or Krakow and then Berlin or does it sound like too many train hours in a small time period ?? Does it make sense in money, or would it be to expensive to add a city to the Prague-Berlin route ??

thanks in advance....

If you have only 4 days, you cannot possibly do the cities mentioned. They are not exactly on a route to Berlin. And you would spend most of your time on trains! If you want to stop somewhere between Prague and Berlin, perhaps Dresden would do it.

There are a number of daily trains between Prague and Berlin, not a very long trip, just over 4 hours (but have not checked) The cost of a ticket would be somewhere in the region of 30-40 euros.

Thanks for you help !! Do you think Dresden is worth the stop, or should I maybe try a day trip to Hamburg while im in Berlin ??

My itinerary would look something like:

3 nights in Prague (27, 28, 29) should be enough, right ??

I´d leave for Dresden on the afternoon of the 30th, sleep there for one night,

Getting to Berlin on the 31st, staying there for four night 31st, 1, 2, 3 and leaving on the 4th to copenhagen !

Or something like:

3 nights in Prague(leaving for Berlin on the 30th)

5 night in berlin (30, 31, 1, 2, 3) and maybe doing one night in Hamburg ?

which one sounds better ??

thanks again !!

I would stop in Dresden for 2 nights, and give Hamburg a definite miss. But perhaps you should post your question on the Dresden forum.

PS I%26#39;ve looked at your posting in Amsterdam - I think you are trying to fit too much into 3 days.

I would give Rotterdam a miss, as well as Luxembourg.

Stop in Brussels, have a day trip to Bruges and then take Thalys to Paris. No point taking Thalys from Amsterdam, it is too expensive, needs reservation and it is not any faster than ordinary IC train. (the fast track has not yet been finished)

Thanx for the advice, Im gonna be taking a closer look at Dresden then to see whats in for me over there.

About Amsterdam, Brussels, Brugge, make so much more sense, but i´ve been told a couple of times that Brussels might not be worth it. Maybe I could just see Antwerp and Brugge and head directly to Paris, does that sound feasible ??

I know I´m being a little greedy on what I want to see in so little time, but I can only get a month off work and I wanna do so much !!

This is what my whole plan looks like, so that you can tell me if im overdoing it too much...

23rd of may I arrive at paris

27 I fly to Prague

30th (I´d be taking your advice) and would be heading to Dresden

1st of june I´d me moving along to Berlin

4th flight over to Copenhagen

8th flight to london

13th flight to amsterdam

17/18th night at antwerp/ brugge

19th I head back home to Argentina

Thanks again !!

Sounds like a plan, a busy month, you%26#39;ll need a good holidays after that.

Just one comment, you cannot go to Paris directly from Brugges, you%26#39;d need to go via Brussels either on Thalys via Brussels or to catch Thalys in Brussels.

Good luck, Penny
