Hi - I%26#39;m planning to visit Prague in June or July of this year. Can someone please recommend which neighborhood I should stay in (Stare Mesto, Castle District, Mala Strana, etc.)? There are so many places from which to choose. I would like to be in a convenient location, but I don%26#39;t need to be right in the heart of things. In fact, I%26#39;d much prefer to be away from the really crowded places. Thanks!!

Hi!
The historical centre of Prague is very compact and easy to walk! My absolutely favourite is Mala Strana - very close to the castle, charles bridge, old town square and all major sights are within a walking distance. It%26#39;s a very convenient location, but away from the hustle %26amp; bustle! The Old Town Square is beautiful, but very busy even at night...
Prague is a very safe city (except from pickpockets), so you can enjoy your strolls around the city even after dark!
Enjoy your time in Prague!:-)

Yes, do post a budget.
But I think most visitors end up surprised how compact Prague is for sightseeing. All the areas you list will have pros %26amp; cons but easy access to the others.

Mala Strana and Castle District (Hradcany) is definitely more quiet and even in high season are not crowds in this area in the evening. Very pretty and out of main tourist stream is particularly Novy Svet - in this area is couple of B%26amp;B or apartments. As concern hotels near to this most western historical Prague part is Crowne Plaza Prague Castle, Savoy, Questenberg, Domus Henrici.
But even in Old Town is quiet part around Hastalske namesti (St. Castulus Square) with hotels Maximilian and Hastal. This area is quite near to Jewish Museum on one side and Municipal House on the other.
