best way to travel through central Europe?

Hi there,

I am planning a trip with my husband, his cousin and wife to central Europe in May or June. We%26#39;re all in our 30%26#39;s or early 40%26#39;s. What is the best way to get around from Prague to Budapest and perhaps a few other cities like Krakow or someplace in Germany or Austria? car rental (which companies are best)? train (should we book tickets in advance)? plane (again which are the best companies in Europe)?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

Between Prague and Budapest the rain is the best and most comfortable, but if you want to see other places you need to get some sort of itinerary together so we can help you more! Some tickets can be bought on-line, and others cannot, and you have to bear in mind that although distances may not seem that great on the map, timewise they can be huge (Prague - Krakow is an overnight journey, for example).

Also flying isn%26#39;t always that feasible or cheap in Europe between some centres.

If you make a list of some places that you fancy seeing and maybe someone can suggest you you might do it, or let you know whether it is a crazy idea or not :)

sorry - %26#39;train is most comfortable%26#39; :)

They should have a preview option for these posts...
