We have done on and off the bus tours in other cities and found them to be a great intro to a new city - is there such a thing in Prague? If so is the commentary in English?

No bus as far as I know, but look at the above link.

I did the Nostalgic tram on my last visit and it was great fun,3 middle aged guys fighting over to see who gets to be the brakeman,we eventually deferred to a couple of 8 year old boys.
You get some great views of the city,ok there is no commentary but for the price it is the best value tourist attraction in Prague.
Go on it you will love it.

Wow! would have loved that but shame we don%26#39;t go out till 20th November so will miss it :(
|||
A bus would be no good as many of the areas to see are pedestrian only. Just hop on a tram - I think it is the 22 and 23 that takes you on the most scenic route (and goes up to the castle), but for the majority of time you will have to use shanks%26#39;s pony I%26#39;m afraid :)

do any trams run in the winter months, seeing as that link only goes till early November
|||
All trams run all through the year and all through the night as well - it is just the %26#39;nostalgic tram%26#39; that has limited running times.

thanks for the quick response - will look forward to a tram ride then
