On our recent visit we got a car from the airport to our (out of town) hotel but on the way back decided to try the bus.

You can get the airport express bus from the main railway station (Nádraží Holešovice I think its called). Go into the station then up to the second floor where you will find yourself by a busy road and the relevant bus stop. Fare is only 50czk and the journey was only about 35 minutes. The bus zips along and drops you right outside the terminal.

We found it very easy to get around Prague. The metro is very good but we found we could easily walk around the main city centre sights.

The airport express normally goes from Nadrazi Holesovice (not the main station) but I%26#39;ve read somewhere that because of some building works at Holesovice, it now goes from the Central Station (Hlavni nadrazi).

Can anyone confirm this?

I haven%26#39;t personal experience, but on the Czech version of Permanent Transit Changes is written that since 14.12.2008 AE doesn%26#39;t go to Nádraží Holešovice. In the direction to the airport it has stops: Hlavní nádraží -%26gt; Dejvická -%26gt; Terminál 1 -%26gt; Terminál 2 -%26gt; Letiště Ruzyně.

From the airport it goes through Masarykovo nádraží: Terminál 1 -%26gt; Terminál 2 -%26gt; Dejvická -%26gt; Masarykovo nádraží -%26gt; Hlavní nádraží.

The fare from/to Hlavní nádraží is 50 CZK and from/to Dejvická 30 CZK.

I think Globalempire meant the main railway station = Hlavní nádraží, there is a busy road Wilsonova.
