Best area to stay in Prague?

Hello All,

There are 6 of us (mixed group!) heading to Prague early next year for a city break. We have heard so much about the city %26amp; it%26#39;s atmosphere etc so we deceided to see it for ourselves. We are all late 20(ish!)%26amp; would also like to experience the nightlife that Prague has to offer.

Essentially my question is: Do we stay in the Old Town area or in Wensceslas Square? The area does not have to be a quiet area. What we are looking for is proximity to bars,restaurants,cafe%26#39;s etc.

All advice gratefully received.

Much obliged.

Try this site for some ideas http://www.livingprague.com/index.html click on tourism, bars etc are spread out all over Prague and you are never far from somewhere to drink ,depending what sort of places you want to go to ie; sports ,cocktail ,beerhalls thats as specific as I can be.

I think, in your case being so flexible, it does not much matter whether you stay in W.square, or the Old town, there are bars and restaurants everywhere!!

Thanks all so far

Wensceslas Square is more of a party area if that is what you are looking for. More people in your age group. Its only a 5-10 minute walk from one area to the other. Hotels seem to be cheaper in Wensceslas Square. Lots of bars, clubs and strip clubs.

Wenceslas Square area may be rusty for someone%26#39;s taste. As hinted, its more a party area with many clubs and bars. The %26#39;red light district%26#39; is adjacent to this square.

Anyway, i really like the Lesser Town, which may not be the place you look for. ANother option is the Old Town - this may your best bet.

Im sending you a PM.
