1st class vs 2nd class Trains

Is there a difference between 1st and 2nd class trains? To reserve a seat in either class is the same price w/ a rail pass. Which should I get?

I think GCEK gave an answer to your question only very recently...try to look for it.

For me, when I use trains in Czech(which is not that often)I always buy 1st class ticket. The carriages are almost empty, so you can have the whole compartment to yourself, and on some trains, the first class is much smarter than 2nd.

I%26#39;m feeling seasonal - here are all the photos you will ever need www.vagonweb.cz/fotogalerie/CZ/index_CD.php

NB there are no %26#39;first class trains%26#39; and %26#39;second class trains%26#39; - each train has sections of each. Some local trains only have second class.

As Penny says, and as you can see from the images, the difference in comfort is not always that great, but it does mean that you usually get a bit more space. If you like travelling on your own, go first class!

Don%26#39;t bother reserving a seat, or getting a rail pass - Czech Railways are very reasonably priced and you would have to use them a huge amount to make a rail pass worth your while, and certainly not with a company like Rail Europe which typically charges 100% more than the %26#39;real%26#39; price. There will ALWAYS be space - I think I have only ever once been in a train which was %26#39;full%26#39; (and I mean full) and that was after a Rolling Stones concert which had 200000 people in the crowd.
