If I take the midnight train to Georgia, could you tell me what time/day I would arrive in Tbilisi ( and where I would need to change ? )
Thanks

After a short investigation i humbly ask! Is there a rail connection to Tblisi?
I dont think so. So your only option is to go by air.
CSA operates twice a week direct ti Tbilisi

AndersE oh ye of little faith in Russian railways.
The midnight train from Prague will get him to Krasnodar in mere 77 hours, and then it%26#39;s only 250 miles to go. Not worse than being 24 hours from Tulsa is it?

There is a fast train on Wednesdays and Sundays from Kiev to Tbilisi. It leaves Kiev at 07:00 and arrives the next day in Tbilisi at 13:45.
So, you only need to take a train from Praha to Kiev and change there.
To be quite frank, it is much easier to fly CSA to Tbilisi.
|||
Definitely fly - although a train link may exist in theory, I don%26#39;t believe that any are actually running between Georgia and Russia at present due to recent disagreements.
Maybe Castleblanca has more up-to-date news!

Yes, there are trains from both Moscow and Kiev to Tbilisi (not daily, though). I got the info from the Georgian railways, themselves.
Also, Kiev is in the Ukraine, so they sided with Georgia during the recent hostilities. I suggested this connection from Praha, because there is no need to travel past Kiev to Moscow and then take a train to Tbilisi.
In any event, I can%26#39;t believe anyone would really take this outlandish train connection when there is a non-stop flight from Praha to Tbilisi. You%26#39;d have to be a complete masochist.
|||
It would be an interesting journey, though. My father goes to Tbilisi a lot, but he prefers to get the bus from Turkey ...
Not sure which one is more outlandish, though :)
|||
Interesting!
You guys need to fill in the blanks at Wikipedia!
Wich only describes some planned railway into Turkey.
|||
It%26#39;s a shame OP is not asking about the midnight train to Vladivostok, but then he would not be, would he???
