I made several reservations through Venere in Italy without any problems, but had an interesting experience last week in Poland. The confirmed booking, non pre-paid, was quoted in Polish zlotys. The %26#39;guest information%26#39; at the check-in had the same amount, but in euro, 4 times more expensive. I asked for an explanation and sent an e-mail to Venere. Whatever was the resolution between the hotel and the agency, I ended up paying the quoted price. However, the correspondence with Venere was far from impressive: %26quot;what is guest card%26quot;, %26quot;whatever the quote, the hotel has a right to charge in the national currency%26quot;, and, the final one, %26quot;in what currency did you pay?%26quot;. Again, the charge was as originally quoted, so Venere went through with high marks - but the fact that I%26#39;ve never received a straightforward answer bothers me a little.
