anybody know what sort of rate you get out the atm to the pound?
still unsure wether to cash all my money over here before i go or use an atm lol
|||
Martha, thanks for your info.
Showtime, not sure for your situation. I have checked with our bank the rate for me to cash out from ATM is slightly better than I exchange cash, now just checking the bank charge for every transaction.

Showtime
ATM every time, as long as you have the best no fee debit cards of course. Take minimum cash from here,
good cards apply the inter-bank rate with no transaction fee.

pretty sure i get charged.
cheers anyway mate

asked the bank and was told i get charged 3.75% of the total transaction amount everytime i use my card
was planning on taking £300 worth of czk when i come over (too much or maybe more)
would i be better putting the 300 in the bank and finding out the rate here before i go and then lifting out the £300 worth as soon as i arrive??
think 3.75% of 300 is 11.75?? so maybe better to do it that way instead of lifting numerous small amounts over the 4 days
there is a local shop in my town which today was offering 28.08 czk to the £, is this good?
sorry to keep going on about this but i am a bit of a worrier! lol

Showtime have a look here to get up to date exchange rates, I always wait untill I get to Prague and use the ATMS in the airport as no money will be needed before that.

I use these sites for looking at exchange rates:
http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/
http://www.iceplc.com/
I%26#39;m not saying they%26#39;re the best as I%26#39;m no expert but I%26#39;m sure they%26#39;ll be of help to some people.

showtime - really - take the advice given here and use the cashpoint. You%26#39;ll be getting nearer 30 at today%26#39;s price and whatever commission the bank may charge you is always less that what you would be charged %26#39;on the street%26#39; (even if they say no commission is charged - that just means they offer a poorer exchange rate). Just budget well, take out what you need and don%26#39;t take it all around with you. £40 a day should be fine for all your needs so work around that.
Have fun, and don%26#39;t worry!
