Central Prague hotel - free car parking

Hi

We are looking for a central(ish) hotel in Prague with free car parking. We%26#39;ve stayed at the Julien before, and that%26#39;s probably the area we are looking for, somewhere it would be relatively easy to get the car to with not too many tight narrow roads.

Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Thanks

Why are you bringing a car? It would be a mistake in Prague, and you shouldn%26#39;t need to use it anyway. As for free parking - I reckon you%26#39;ll be looking at least 30 Euros a day.

If you must bring a car and you want somewhere to put it without it being damaged/stolen/towed away you will have to consider somewhere out of the centre - maybe www.zlatapraha.net/en/hlavnimenu/o-nas/ or http://www.htlpraha.cz/

Thank you

We are taking a car as we are driving from Prague to Brno, Vienna, Budapest and back to Prague. I know we could take a train but I am having medical treatment while there, and it is easier for me to be in a car.

I guess we might be better in a non-central hotel and take public transport in to the centre.

Alternatively you could leave it at the airport car park and travel in from there - it will be cheaper to park there and you certainly won%26#39;t need it whilst in Prague (as you probably know).

The same applies to Brno - it is not a car-friendly city (most is pedestrianised anyway) and they are doing extensive roadworks at present so a lot of it is dug up - this also means that sat navs don%26#39;t work there any more and you have to use your own intuition :) Do you know where you are staying in Brno? It is probably best to leave your car in the Hotel International guarded car park in the centre and use public transport, which is second to none and very cheap, and many trams are low-floor/easy access.

Don%26#39;t forget the motorway stickers for Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary, and good luck with your medical treatment!

Thank you:)

In Brno we will be staying in the Penzion Pohoda, as we will be there for 8 days in total - going in and out between different hospital appointments.

I think we might just stay at the Julien in Prague as they have a small car park and the rates for it are very reasonable.

Yes - I know it very well. The road that it is on is quite steep (Vinohrady) and there is a tram stop at the bottom of the road which will take you to the centre, etc. You can leave your car on the road and it is nice and quiet there.

Good luck, and enjoy your stay!

Thank you, that%26#39;s very good to know:)
