I have sixteen days (22 August 2009 till 6 September 2009), during which I wish to undertake a central European tour.
I have three %26#39;must visit%26#39; cities in Budapest, Wien and Praha. I should point out that I have been to Praha and Wien before and was so taken away by both that I wish to revisit both; I have never before been to Budapest.
I have spent some time recently trying to construct an itinerary. My plan is to fly into one city from London, then travel by train for the entire trip before flying back to London from my final destination. The idea that is currently at the forefront of my mind is to fly to Budapest for a five-night stay, then travel to Wien for a three-night stay and then onwards to Praha for four nights. This leaves me with four nights spare.
I therefore turn to you for advice, bearing in mind that my interests are fine architectural buildings (esp. churches) and bridges, museums of history, and local culture...
Is a five-night stay in Budapest too long?
Are any of Sopron, Bratislava, or Brno worth a night or two?
Assuming my suggested itinerary meets approval, what do you suggest for the final four nights? Berlin? Dresden? München? Kraków?
