Yes, I know TA closed the recent thread, but my question is different.
How does the smoking compare with Budapest? Has anyone been to both cities recently enough to comment?

Pretty much the same - I can remember when I first went to Budapest and Prague in the mid-1980s you had to worry more about the smoke in the air outside. I can distinctly remember seeing the smog coming into the hotel room through the open window once in Budapest :)
It%26#39;s a lot better nowadays, though, and the cigarettes have become less pungent, if that is any consolation :) It will hit you straight away coming from the UK and it takes a bit of getting used to if you are a non-smoker, but don%26#39;t let that put you off.

Thank you. I survived the smoke in Budapest a year ago, so I hope Prague in the Spring won%26#39;t be too bad.
