Football in Prague this weekend? (Jan 31-Feb 1)

We%26#39;re going to prague this weekend and I have a football-mad boyfriend...he has discovered that Bohemiams are playing Slavia in a friendly on Saturday morning at 11am....How friendly is this likely to be!? I have been to the Sheffield derby many times so know what football fans are like and I know that every club and country has the bad few that can spoil it, and that trouble can erupt at any match, what I%26#39;m asking is would you recommend a young couple to go and experience this game? Is there any history between the two clubs of trouble or should it pass off fairly trouble free? Are there any areas to avoid round the ground/safe ways to get there etc?

Also, would it be easy to get to and does anyone know about tickets?

Don%26#39;t worry at all - they are like pussycats in comparison.

The Bohemians ground is small and only fits a few thousand, but it shouldn%26#39;t be full - just roll up to the stadium on the day and buy a ticket - easy as that!

... and as it is a %26#39;friendly%26#39; (it is the mid-winter break at the moment) there might only be a couple of hundred people, if that, there so no probs.

Thanks GCEK,

I%26#39;m a bit confused though...

I got the info from: http://www.bohemiansfc.cz/, but there%26#39;s no mention of it on: http://www.fc-bohemians.cz/

Are there 2 different websites for the same team? Is one of them wrong?

Also, when I translated the Czech, it said the game was being played on atroturf? Is this at the Stadion Na Chavlech as well?

Thanks,

Slavia is supposed to leave for Dubai this week - so I am not sure what%26#39;s happening! And which Bohemians?

Whatever game it is it could be played at Victoria Zizkov.

But there will be absolutely no trouble whatever game it is.

There are two Bohemians team. The orignal one Bohemians 1905 play in the second division in the original stadium at Vrsovice. The %26#39;new%26#39; Bohemians play in the first league mainly at Victoria Zizkov ground in Zizkov.

i have been to several football games in Prague and never had a problem getting tickets.Never ever seen any trouble at any of the matches i have been too.

There is usually an indoor tournament on at this time of year as well.

|||

Yes - it will probably be on the training ground in Prosek if it is on astroturf and it will be the reserves, but as Penny says - there%26#39;s nothing like a close-season reserve friendly to meet the salt of the earth. You may even be the only people there, so any trouble caused will be entirely up to you ... :)

As long as they sell sausages and grog, I would have been there.

heading over on the 8th of march and staying quite close to victoria zizkovs ground, i believe they are playing sparta on the 7th (unfortunate as i wouldve loved to attend this game) but i noticed on the clubs wikipedia page they opened up a fanshop in 2007 for buying merchandise and i would really like to go and have a look

does anybody know when the shop is open?

we actually managed to just walk into the ground on a previous visit and take a few pictures of the ground and sit in the stand but didnt notice the fanshop

http://www.fkvz.cz/statika.asp?typ=fanshop

maybe GCEK will kindly translate? The shop is open during the week and before the game.
