Public transport in Prague

Hi,

to obtain reduced fare tickets for seniors you have to get a so called PIT card. Where and how can get one?

Thanks

Have a look on here.

I believe that PID card is available to all citizens of EU countries, costs 30KC, need to have a passport size photo, fill in an application form and support it with ID i.e. passport.

It can be bought in metro stops at manned ticket counters.

That%26#39;s all I know.

you can see the form (with pink stripe)that you will need to fill out on this link

http://www.dpp.cz/en/useful/

I bought a monthly pass so only needed to fill out my first/last name, birthday and signature on the back. It is only in Czech so hopefully someone else on here can tell you the information asked for in the seniors section.

By the way, it was not available for purchase at the airport kiosk last October. I bought mine at Nadrazi Holesovice metro station where credit cards are accepted.

I am not sure if you can have senior discount if you haven%26#39;t permanent residence in Czech Republic, but in this case it will be nonsense to show information of senior tickets in English on the sites of DPP.

In that form you fill X in the box after %26quot;Důchodce%26quot; (pensioner), %26quot;Příjmení%26quot; = surname, %26quot;Jméno%26quot; = first name, %26quot;Datum narození%26quot; = date of birth, %26quot;rok%26quot; = year, %26quot;měs.%26quot; = month, %26quot;den%26quot; = day, %26quot;Trvalé bydliště na území ČR - PSČ%26quot; = postcode of place of permanent residence in CR. %26quot;Rozhodnutí o přiznání důchodu ode dne%26quot; = date of ?allotment of rent, %26quot;vydané kým%26quot; = institution which issued the document, %26quot;druh důchodu%26quot; = type of rent - %26quot;starobní%26quot; = %26quot;old age

pension%26quot;.

Maybe it will suffice to fill in date of birth and you will have card for seniors between 60 and 70 years. I am not sure if one can have free transportation if he/she is over 70 and haven%26#39;t CZ citizenship or permanent residence.

tur domaci - the discount is available to all citizens of EU countries. I am not sure whether the above is the correct application form to fillin but you can get it in the same metro stations which issue %26#39;coupons%26#39; or kupony in Czech. So trust me, the info is as I said.

|||

the same is valid if you are over 70.

|||

I trust you. I only wasn%26#39;t sure if it is possible. Now I am happy that it is possible. It%26#39;s good to know for visitors of Prague.

You wrote that it is valid for all EU, what about senior citizens from the US? If not is there a fare card that we should get...like the oyster in London?

Thanks,

|||

When we said above that the senior card is valid for the citizens of EU countries, I thought it is quite clear that US citizens or any other citizens who are not EU countries citizens have no right to discounts. For Prague transport info see the link below.
